Announcing CHARLIE WILLIAMS as the Cinematographer of THE SAXOPHONIST
I'm very happy to announce that we have hired cinematographer Charlie Williams to shoot THE SAXOPHONIST this summer. Charlie is an editor, cinematographer and filmmaker from London, England. Shortly after graduating with an MA in Anthropology from Edinburgh University in 2006, Charlie made his first documentary feature about a small town of guitar makers in Mexico. The Guitar is Their Song earned a nomination for Best Documentary Feature at the New York City International Film Festival. The DVD is available on Amazon.com and from guitarsalon.com in the US and fretsonly.com in the UK. in 2007 Charlie worked first as a camera operator, then as a director, for London based production company Bang Media Ltd; shooting, lighting and directing the company’s flag ship show ‘Show Off UK‘, broadcast live monday to friday on Sky Channel 915. He has also worked on major Warner Brothers feature Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince at Leavesden Studios in the UK and in May 2011 completed a years technical training as a cinematographer in New York City - working with 35mm camera systems, advanced lighting set ups and high end digital film cameras such as the Arri Alexa and Red Epic. In 2012 Charlie completed work as editor and cinematographer on Kids-R - a fascinating documentary feature about parenting and the adoption system. The film features exclusive interviews with names such as Sir Elton John, former MTV CEO Bill Roedy and boxer Hollywood Hino. Charlie currently works for New York, Soho based production and rentals company EXU Media, and recently began work as film editor on feature film Bag Boy Lover Boy directed by Andres Torres.
